Loja

Loja is both a town and a very large municipality in the province of Granada, Andalucia. The town itself is around 56 minutes from Malaga airport via the A-92 motorway so very easily accessible and at 448m above sea level has an inland climate where it’s hot but dry in the summer and cooler than the coast in the winter.

The town has everything you would need for everyday living as well as holidaying in the area. There are some traditional style bars as well as excellent international style restaurants, and of course major supermarkets such as Lidl and Mercadona.

There are good walking and cycling routes and on the Sierra de Loja you can not only enjoy very long walks and cycle rides but also partake in paragliding, rock climbing, camping, abseiling and more.

Loja is an important centre for agriculture and marble and there are many places to find quality local marble for your kitchen worktops, stairs or floors.

As the town is so close to the motorway getting around is very easy. The large towns of Seville, Granada and Cordoba are all easily accessible.

It’s possible to find a range of property in the town and surrounding villages from apartments, traditional town houses, renovation projects, modern villas, old farmhouses with olive groves.
